Social Media Internship

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Timeframe: At least 10 weeks, 8–12 hours/week depending on schedule
Start date: August or September, 2024
Compensation: $16/hour
Reports to: Marketing Manager

The Savannah Music Festival located in downtown Savannah, GA is seeking a creative individual to fill the position of Social Media Intern. This position will provide the intern with hands-on in-house marketing, social media, and brand development experience.

The intern will work directly with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Director to assist with the development, design, and content creation for social media. The intern will be responsible for implementing a social media strategy to attract and maintain more followers and help with other projects as needed.

Applicants should possess experience in digital marketing, demonstrate an awareness of social media trends and how they pertain to nonprofit arts organizations, be self-motivated, and take constructive criticism in stride.

Upon successful completion of the internship, there’s the opportunity to stay involved with the festival through the 2025 season as a part-time social media assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and implement engaging new social media content to advertise our upcoming 2024 festival, year-round events, and our education department
  • Track and analyze audience engagement with special interest in new audiences
  • Assist in creating short marketing videos including Instagram reels, Facebook Stories, and maintaining a TikTok presence
  • Maintain branding consistency across all platforms
  • Collaborate on additional projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS
  • Working towards a BA, MFA, or certificate from a Fine Arts program
  • Working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Working knowledge of Canva or similar platforms
  • Strong sense of brand awareness and ability to convey the organization’s values authentically through social media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Google Drive
  • Strong file organization skills and experience with asset management and file organization/cataloging preferred
  • Must be able to work 8-12 hours/week (schedule is negotiable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative, proactive, organized, and efficient
