SMF accepts gifts of appreciated stock as an alternative charitable gift type. Giving via appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds may avoid capital gains taxes and could qualify for an income tax deduction. Consider discussing with your financial advisor whether rebalancing your portfolio might be an efficient strategy for you.*

Other Ways to Give:

Corporate Gift Match. Many companies offer corporate matching for their active and/or retired employees’ charitable donations enabling your gift to go further to support the cause you care about. Check with your Human Resources Department to see if they have a gift matching program. The SMF development department will secure the gift upon receipt of the gift matching form.

Equal monthly payments. SMF offers the ability to make convenient monthly pledge payments. Contact SMF Development at 912.234.3378 x106 to set that up.

Make a distribution from your IRA. If you are age 70½ or older, consider making a distribution of up to $100,000 from your IRA or another qualified retirement account. This type of gift allows you to reach your required minimum distribution with possible federal tax savings.

Include SMF in your estate plans. To learn more about SMF’s Legacy Society, visit our Planning Giving page.
