Merchandise Coordinator (Seasonal)

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Term: Savannah Music Festival 2024
Dates: Flexible hours leading up to the festival starting on March 18, full-time (40+ hours/week) commitment starting March 28-April 13, 2024
Pay: Hourly, $20/hour

The Savannah Music Festival is seeking a Merchandise Coordinator to provide patrons with an exciting merchandise shopping experience during the festival. The Merchandise Coordinator is a seasonal position that manages the Festival Pop-Up Shop and leads all merchandise operations (artist merchandise as well as promotional festival merchandise). Responsibilities include keeping track of inventory, assisting with hiring, training and managing Merchandise Assistants, and selling merchandise for performing artists as well as the festival while helping to create a successful, organized, and unique Festival experience for everyone.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setting up Festival Pop-Up Shop in downtown Savannah pre-festival and breaking down Festival Pop-Up Shop post-festival
  • Staff and manage SMF Pop-Up Shop and the ordering and sale of festival merchandise
  • Schedule staffing requirements for the shop and festival, identify volunteers needs and hire additional staff
  • Manage hired staff/volunteers
  • Prepare merchandise advancing, floats, ipads, mifis, etc. for each concert
  • Assist in setting up merchandise area prior to patron entry into venue space
  • Maintain a secure and organized merchandise area
  • Work with artists or their representative to ensure that all necessary merchandise paperwork is completed
  • Complete inventory of artist and SMF merchandise
  • Lead venue cash reconciliations and post-concert merchandise close-out
  • Work closely with Savannah Music Festival finance and marketing staff to ensure merchandise operations are efficient
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Previous retail leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with SquareUp POS platform preferred
  • Fluency in monetary transactions
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, prioritize and to independently troubleshoot and work under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accountability with inventory
  • Willingness, availability, energy, and stamina to work long hours and weekends during 17-day Festival
  • Collaborative working style with a hands-on approach to teamwork
  • Ability to interact with artists and Festival staff professionally and personally
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to move and lift items that weigh 50-75 lbs chest high
  • Thrive in a busy environment and handle onsite adjustments seamlessly
