Irish traditional music has been around for centuries and has always included an array of drinking songs, ballads and laments, as well as traditional dance tunes including reels, hornpipes and jigs. The past century has seen a great blend of musicians drawn to the sounds of Irish music from both sides of the Atlantic. In this episode, we listen to one of the most revered Irish fiddlers on the planet, Martin Hayes, playing alongside his longtime musical partner, guitarist Dennis Cahill.
