Location: Savannah, Georgia
Term: Savannah Music Festival 2019
Start Date: February 2019 (remote); March 25, 2019 (in-person)
Reports To: Hospitality Coordinator

The Savannah Music Festival is seeking a Hospitality Assistant. This is a temporary position that reports to the Hospitality Coordinator and works closely with the Managing Director and festival caterers during the 17-day Festival. Hospitality Assistant also manages the hospitality volunteer program. Position will require limited remote hours in February 2019; in-person set up and breakdown dates March 25-27 and April 14-15, and festival hours March 28-April 13, 2019.


  • As assistant to Hospitality Coordinator:
    • Become intimately familiar with Festival schedule and venues
    • With Hospitality Coordinator, purchase, deliver, set up, and load out artist rider hospitality requirements for 8-10 performance and rehearsal venues during the Festival
    • Assist in supervision of catering delivery and pick up at 8-10 venues during the Festival
    • Track expenses and report regularly to Managing Director
    • Provide courteous and prompt service to festival artists
  • As coordinator of hospitality volunteers:
    • Review and amend schedule of hospitality volunteers at all venues for the Festival
    • Recruit hospitality volunteers in advance of the Festival
    • Train and supervise hospitality volunteers during the Festival
    • Communicate regularly with hospitality volunteers before, during, and after shifts


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative working style with a hands-on approach to team work and managing
  • Positive attitude and proven record of reliability
  • Patience, empathy, and ability to work with different personalities
  • Must be extremely organized when handling multiple details and have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to interact with artists and Festival staff professionally and personally
  • Ability to trouble shoot and work under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with Marcato Festival a plus
  • Willingness, availability, energy, and stamina to work long hours during 17-day Festival (often 16+ hours) and full days of set up and break down preceding and following the festival
  • Previous hospitality/catering and volunteer management experience. Festival hospitality/catering experience a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving experience
