For the 2016 season poster, the Savannah Music Festival commissioned Italian illustrator Alessandro Gottardo, aka SHOUT. SHOUT’s beautifully textured and spacious composition of a live oak-lined road highlights one of Savannah’s most distinguishing features while also creating a narrative of audiences actually joining the musicians in the performance experience, creating an exchange that feeds artistic output.
Alessandro Gottardo was born in Pordenone in 1977. He studied art in Venice and illustration at the Istituto Europeo del Design in Milan, Italy. He has won numerous awards, particularly in the United States. These include the most prestigious international accolade in the illustration field like gold and silver medals form the Society of Illustrators and the Society of Publication Designer.
