A fascinating fusion concert featuring the music of the boy genius Felix Mendelssohn and one of Savannah’s most celebrated sons, Johnny Mercer.
The first half features Mendelssohn’s evergreen and dynamic String Octet, written when he was just 16 years old. In the second half, with brilliant arrangements for voice, piano, double bass and string quartet by pianist and returning SMF artist Simon Mulligan, we’ll hear a selection of Mercer’s most famous and much loved songs.
