Professor Oral Moses of Kennesaw State University and The Georgia Spiritual Ensemble present some of the first uniquely American music, the Spiritual. Although created over a 200-year period, most Americans were unaware of this music's existence until after the Civil War. Spirituals are an enduring testament to the strength and tenacity of the African people who adapted to and enriched all of American culture. Learn the history and significance of Spirituals. Presented for Grades 5-12.
