Listen to Rob Gibson, Executive and Artistic Director of the Festival, describe this series.

In music, Americana is often defined as a subset of American folk music, occasionally characterized as "classic American music" ranging in style from roots-based bluegrass to alternative country, gospel, blues, Cajun, and other native forms. What ties this wide variety of musical genres together is the diverse range of cultural influences that we call American. In this series, a bluegrass heavyweight teams up with an accomplished popular pianist and composer, a mily band performs bluegrass & old-time country, a Cajun band mixes early country dance music and modern Louisiana sounds and an up-and-coming bluegrass quintet performs acclaimed original tunes.
