Series: Connect Americana

Mamou, Louisiana native Steve Riley took up the accordion at an early age, mimicking the rollicking style of his cousin, Marc Savoy (famed accordion maker and musician). Joining the legendary Dewey Balfa in his band at age 15, he was exposed to hundreds of traditional French songs and tunes and was deeply influenced by his elder's "hurts-so-good" vocal style.

Come hear the best Cajun band in America and help us break in the dance floor at the Charles H. Morris Center as the Mamou Playboys rip through Cajun jigs, two steps and waltzes.

"...one of the finest Cajun bands in history." - Washington Post
