India's most mesmerizing dance company comes from Nrityagram village, a place where students devote their lives to the study of one of the oldest dance traditions in the world (called Odissi). Nrityagram was founded in 1990 by Protima Gauri to put classical Indian culture back into the hands of common people. Accompanied by a stellar Oriya music ensemble, this enchanting, highly-skilled dance troupe is regarded worldwide as one of the foremost Indian dance companies.
