Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Ensemble

The Conservatory Jazz Ensemble is one of 7 nationally award winning ensembles within the Tarpon Springs High School Leadership Conservatory for the Arts. This curricular ensemble is dedicated to performing the true American art form, Jazz. The Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos study and perform a variety of musical styles that encompass the entire history of Jazz Music. Students in this ensemble focus heavily on the study of Jazz Improvisation. The Jazz Ensemble performs at over 20 performances per year and has performed in concert along side Wycliffe Gordon, Marcus Printup, Scotty Barnhart, Bob Reynolds, the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors and many other great jazz musicians and educators. Consistently recognized nationally, The Jazz Ensemble has been selected to perform twice at the prestigious North Texas State Jazz Festival, in Dallas, Texas, five times at Swing Central and received High Honors and Class Champions at the Berklee College of Music High School Jazz Festival in Boston, MA in 2015 and 2017. Recently, the Jazz Ensemble along with our Wind Ensemble and Marching Band were the only High School selected as a National Blue Ribbon Program of Excellence by the National Band Association in 2016.
