Cedar Ridge Jazz Ensemble I

Directed by Josh Cvijanovic (Hillsborough, NC)

The Cedar Ridge Jazz Ensemble I – from Hillsborough, NC – is the first high school band program from North Carolina to participate as a finalist in Swing Central Jazz. Since the school opened in 2002, the Red Wolf Bands have had a long history of excellence in the concert and jazz programs, with students frequently performing at District and State level honor bands. Membership in the big bands is determined by audition, open to students grades 9-12 with the ensembles rehearsing before school throughout the week. The ensembles consistently receive Superior ratings at state adjudication and local festivals. In 2015 the Jazz Ensemble I was a featured performer with guest artist Ken Watters at the NCMEA In-Service Conference. Cedar Ridge jazz students have participated in the NAfME National Honor Jazz Ensemble, the Grammy Jazz Camp, Jazz Band of America and the Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Castleton Summer Jazz Academy.
