Agoura High School Studio Jazz Band

Directed by Chad Bloom (Agoura Hills, CA)

Agoura High School (AHS), a public school in California, has a nationally recognized music program. Agoura High’s Studio Jazz Band is only one of the high school’s jazz bands, and features students in 10th-12th grade. The Studio Jazz Band has also participated in several competitions, and has placed first in SMF’s own Swing Central Jazz Competition in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The band shared first place in 2011 and 2012.

The Agoura High School Studio Jazz Band is directed by Chad Bloom. Mr. Bloom has been teaching at Agoura High School since 2004, and just last year was named the 2015 “Innovation in Education” recipient by the Steve Allen-Valley Economic Alliance Awards. In Savannah, Matt McKagan will lead the Studio Jazz Band, because Mr. Bloom is expecting the birth of his first child.

Here is Agoura High School’s Studio Jazz Band performing BRASILLIANCE at Essentially Ellington in 2015.
