Chicago, IL (Bass)
Eli Broxham, 22, is a graduate of DePaul University of Chicago, where he cultivated a love and reverence for acoustic music. Since being introduced to the genre, Eli has delved into its roots and evolution — exploring the rich landscape folk music offers, and working to discover his own place within. The musician he would most like to meet is Edgar Meyer, a dream he hopes to realize very soon.
When asked about giving advice to young musicians, Eli replied, “That very much depends on the level of the player and their circumstances, but one universal truth about music which I think is beneficial for everyone to know and understand is that music is a language, and just like a language, you have to know what it is that you’re saying, and in most cases, you should have a pretty good idea of what you’re saying as you’re saying it.”
