SMF 2012 Volunteering
Volunteering for the SMF allows you to be a part of Georgia's largest musical arts event where you can contribute to an experience of timeless and adventurous productions that stimulate arts education, foster economic growth, and unite artists and audiences in Savannah.

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
After you submit the online volunteer application, Our volunteer coordinator will contact you in January to discuss your schedule.
Volunteer Roles
- Usher: Hand out programs and take patrons to their seats
- Ticket Taker: Take patrons' tickets and guide patrons to their seating sections
- Merchandise Sales: Assist with Festival merchandise sales
- Hospitality: Assist Hospitality Coordinator with craft service setup and maintaining backstage area
- Backstage Runner: Individual knowledgeable of the local area and merchants, with vehicle capable of carrying two passengers (minimum)
- Office Assistant: Help staff with various administrative duties at the office
- Production Assistant: Help Production staff with preparing venues for shows

Additional benefits of specific volunteer positions are outlined below, and we make every effort to best match each individual's skills and interests. To thank you for volunteering, we will provide a free SMF t-shirt to wear as you participate!
Usher or Ticket Taker: Provides you with the special opportunity to enjoy part of the performance you have been assigned.
Hospitality, Back Stage Runner, or Production Assistant: Allows you to have exclusive, behind the scenes experiences working with production teams and artist management.
Office Support: Gives you the exceptional experience of working with a professional team of art administrators.
Merchandise Sales: Provides you the opportunity to work within well-known venues and handle quality merchandise, building sales abilities and experience.
Volunteer Guidelines and Regulations
- Attend a Volunteer Orientation session. Date and time to be determined.
- Dress in appropriate attire (red shirt, dark pants, closed toe shoes)
- Available to work in various venues during the Festival
- Maintain regular, punctual, attendance
- Follow procedures for each task as directed
- Treat all patrons and performers with respect for their enthusiasm
- Accept assignments as requested with good cheer
- Greet all patrons and performers with respect and enthusiasm
- Contact SMF within 24 hours for cancellations/changes
- Devote my total attention (no cell phones, texting, socializing)
- Enter/Exit hall at the discretion of the House Manager
- Answer patrons' questions about the Savannah Music Festival and assist with directions/information.
- Comply with Savannah Music festival's zero tolerance for alcohol and tobacco consumption during shifts.
- Must agree with volunteer rules and responsibilities as outlined in the Volunteer Handbook
