SMF Associate Artistic Director Daniel Hope performs his first Savannah recital in years accompanied by SMF favorite Sebastian Knauer, his close friend and musical collaborator for more than a decade.
"Mr. Hope, a compelling performer whose work involves standard repertory, new music, raga, and jazz, emphasizes thoughtful engagement over flamboyant display‚ he puts classical works within a broader context‚ not just among other styles and genres but amid history, literature, and drama‚ emphasize music's role as a mirror for struggle and aspiration." The New York Times
Knauer is "a pianist whose playing is a marvel of robust eloquence and unfaltering mastery. All his performances are as disciplined as they are acute, a pianist we must hear more from." Gramophone Magazine
