This edition of SMF Live features selections from an all-Dvorak program that was part of the Daniel Hope & Friends series at the 2012 Savannah Music Festival. Joining Daniel and his colleagues on this occasion was the great pianist Menahem Pressler of the now retired Beaux Arts Trio. We begin with Dvorak’s Terzetto in C Major, Op. 74, composed in 1887 for violins and viola, performed by Daniel Hope, Benny Kim and CarlaMaria Rodrigues. In the second half of the program, we listen to Dvorak’s Piano Trio in E minor, Op. 90, better known as the Dumky Trio, featuring Daniel Hope on violin, Josephine Knight on cello and Menahem Pressler on piano.
