When renowned one-man band M. Ward recorded a duet with star actress Zooey Deschanel, the experience led to Ms. Deschanel admitting to secretly making dozens of home demos and hoarding them like acorns for the winter. These recordings fueled the creation of She & Him, which features Ms. Deschanel's charming vocal harmonies and Mr. Ward's unique arrangements and virtuosic guitar playing alongside six other extraordinary musicians.
